Your smile is one of your most prominent physical features. If you’re smiling less often due to crooked teeth, talk to your Prescott, Wisconsin dentist about ClearCorrect orthodontic treatment. ClearCorrect aligners are a cut above traditional braces when it comes to straightening crooked teeth. An evaluation from Dr. Jay Feuillerat at Scenic Bluffs Dental will determine if you’re a good candidate for this orthodontic procedure.
Although both braces and aligners are effective at straightening teeth, there’s a marked difference in how they’re made and used to get the results you desire.
Braces make use of brackets and wires to straighten crooked teeth. These brackets are cemented onto your teeth, and wiring is attached in between. The wiring is adjusted periodically to put pressure on your teeth to shift them into alignment. Your dentist will monitor your progress and adjust the wires accordingly throughout your treatment.

Braces are often uncomfortable to wear, as the wiring can poke or irritate your gums or teeth. They’re also highly visible, which many teens and adults find unsightly.
In contrast, ClearCorrect orthodontic treatment makes use of clear, plastic aligners to realign your teeth. These aligners are custom-made for comfort and function. You will be given a series of aligners which you’ll change every few weeks. Each aligner brings you one step closer to beautifully aligned teeth.
ClearCorrect aligners offer several benefits that traditional braces cannot match:
