Athletic Mouthguards

Woman with mouthguard

If you or your little one are involved in any sports or physical activities that may put your teeth at risk, we recommend wearing a custom-fit athletic mouthguard. Mouthpieces that are fit for your unique smile provide a more comfortable fit and a higher level of protection. Generic boil-and-bite mouthguards often slip or fall out, leaving your teeth at risk of getting damaged or knocked-out. Our team will take impressions of your smile and send them to an off-site lab where your mouthguard will be custom designed and sent back to us for a comprehensive fitting.

Custom Nightguards

If you suffer from grinding your teeth at night, incorporating a custom nightguard into your routine can help. Constant grinding can lead to gum recession and additional wear and tear on your teeth. A nightguard places a barrier between your top and bottom rows to eliminate the harsh grinding between the two. Much like athletic mouthguards, a custom nightguard is tailored to your smile to ensure you still get a comfortable night’s rest while wearing it.

Dental Sealants

For additional protection against cavities and decay, we offer dental sealants. Sealants are thin, plastic coatings that are applied to the crown of the tooth to seal out any unwanted bacteria that collects in the small grooves of your teeth. This treatment is especially common on the back molars, where you’re most at risk. Dental sealants are safe for children and often incorporated into their treatment plans.

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a natural mineral that is proven to protect your teeth from cavities. You will often find it incorporated into the water you drink, toothpaste, and mouthwash. For an additional boost of protection, we may apply a varnish, gel, foam, or rinse that has a high fluoride content. This is typically the final step in your biannual dental exam.

Halitosis Treatment

Smiling Woman

Chronic bad breath, also known as halitosis, can stem from a variety of underlying issues. Among the most common are gum disease, dental decay, dry-mouth induced by medications, and tobacco usage. Our team will perform a thorough examination of your oral and overall health to determine what is causing your bad breath and provide you with a personalized treatment plan to correct it.

Headache Prevention

Frequent headaches are not only painful, but often impact your overall quality of life. We offer NTI mouthpieces to eliminate your headaches and get you back to accomplishing your daily tasks comfortably. This mouthpiece is worn at night and works to reposition your jaw and alleviate the pressure causing your headaches. Oftentimes, chronic headaches are triggered by TMJ/TMD disorder or bruxism.

Oral Cancer Screenings

At each visit, we perform an oral cancer screening to detect precancerous signs at any early stage. If we don’t see you for your dental exams regularly, it is difficult to catch these signs before they progress into larger issues. Early detection increases your chances of curing oral cancer and it’s imperative you keep up with your routine exams. A few symptoms to be aware of include abnormal pain, irregular red or white patches in the mouth, and sores that don’t heal.
